Annual General Meeting:
A reminder that the Annual General meeting will be held on the 11TH of OCTOBER at the Club House (Brendale) commencing at 1930 (7:30PM). This is your opportunity to be part of the committee for the 2011 season or to come along and make your opinion known on what direction the Club should take next year . The club needs your involvement to function, remember all the work behind the scenes is carried out by volunteers (currently 23 people doing 60 positions/jobs).
If you feel you could take a job on board or assist in anyway it will be greatly appreciated and will cut down the workload of the others who are currently doing more than one job within the Club.
RETURN OF GEAR
Players, Managers and Coaches are reminded that you can now start returning any Club Gear that you have out on loan. This includes balls, bibs, goalie gear, shirts etc. GOALKEEPERS – before you return your club gear please wash with warm soapy water, dry and air it as it will be shrink wrapped and stored for next season (and we don’t want to kill who ever opens it next season with the smell or mould).

CANTEEN CO-CONVENER
This year will be the last year that Sharron and John Kelly will be our canteen conveners. We are seeking interested people to learn the ropes now so that next year we will have a smooth transition. If you are interested in being the Canteen Co-Convener please see Brett, Phill or Sharron ASAP.
Sharron has requested the following:
We are looking for someone to come forward and co-ordinate the canteen on Wednesday nights (there is not much involved). If you are at the clubhouse and at a loose end waiting for your child to finish training give the co-ordinating a go……. For more information see Sharron or John or phone 3261 1658.
If there is no help forthcoming the canteen will not open on training nights
As John and myself will only be down at the clubhouse until the end of April/May
Saturday & Sunday Canteen Duties
A co-ordinator is also needed to help in the canteen on Saturdays and Sundays . You will be on a roster system with John and myself.
Also teams will be rostered to help in the canteen on both days. You can either have 2 – 3 people for the entire time allocated or 2 – 3 people for each hour allocated. Until I get the fixture times from football I apologise the the short notice with rostering.
VOLUNTEER WORK
It is club policy that Parents/players volunteer to carry out a minimum of 2 Saturday/Sunday canteen duties (training nights not included)
Retiring from the canteen at the end of 2010
As 2010 will be our last year of operating the canteen for the benefit of all of the junior players, John and I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of the wonderful people who have given their time freely over the years to help us man the canteen on Saturdays and the occasional Sundays for Aussie Rules games.
We would dearly love a couple of people to come forward this year to learn the ropes for the Saturday/ Sunday operation of the canteen for next year. As I have said before the money raised goes towards keeping fees down a bit to offset all of the South Pine Sports Association charges.
If you feel as though you would like to give of your time for any of the co-ordinating jobs (Wednesday nights and Saturdays/Sundays please send an email to chance4bella@hotmail.com as a big hole would be left as far as funds go if the canteen didn’t operate on aussie rules days and that would be a terrible shame.

MATCH REPORTS
J1
The Junior fixtures commence last Friday with our J1 team facing Norths as the opening game of the 2010 junior season. As promised this was a match not to be missed. The game was a dower struggle that ended in a 1-1 draw. Saints had a number of opportunities and a lack of finishing cost us dearly as we had the majority of the play. Some great saves by our ‘keeper and final line of defence off the line keep us in the game when Norths did mount an attack.
At the conclusion of the game the J1 Coach Mitch Bolton pointed out to the boys that there is a lot of work to do if we are to be a threat come September.
